About Emma & Aaron
Aaron & Emma Falconer are based in Tauranga, New Zealand, where they live with their daughter, Lottie. They began writing music together in 2014, with the purpose of using music to share the good news of God’s plan of redemption.
Aaron & Emma released their first EP, "Deliverance" in 2018. Containing five songs written for the Church to sing in praise and worship, this EP is based on truth found in Scripture such as God's sovereignty, humanity's sin and desperate need for God, and his steadfast love and grace.
After moving to Dallas, TX in August 2019, Aaron & Emma studied for two and a half years at Dallas Theological Seminary. Their purpose in studying was to deepen their foundations in the Bible and theology, so that they could be better-equipped to serve the church through music.
While in Dallas, Emma & Aaron served through music in their local church, Watermark Community Church. As Fellows with the Worship Team, they took part in the Watermark Institute, a ten-month program of Bible, theology, and practical training. During this time they re-wrote their project “Come & Know Me”, which is a series of eight songs crafted to present the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Before returning to New Zealand in November 2021, Aaron & Emma created an audio and visual recording of Come & Know Me with the help of musicians and creatives in Dallas. Their passion for this project is to use the vehicle of music to share the good news of the Gospel with our world who so desperately needs to hear it.
Why Music?
From the Israelites’ song after being rescued from Egypt to the psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs of the Church, God’s people have continually used music to praise him.
Our purpose in songwriting is to:
Share the Gospel with our world who so desperately needs to hear it
Help the Church learn truth about God and respond to him in heartfelt worship.
So much of what we learn and remember about God stems from what we sing on Sunday mornings. A well-crafted melody that sticks in our minds can be a powerful tool for us to remember God’s truth. When rich truth is combined with good music, both the mind and heart can be engaged to appropriately praise and worship God. In our world that increasingly sees truth as subjective, there is an ever-present need for God’s unchanging Word to be shared as many ways as possible.
